On Sunday, the 11th of December, 2016, the Syrian army targeted residential areas in the suburbs of Daraa al-Balad in the Daraa province. The attacks killed three civilians in addition to wounding several others.

Mohamad Aba Zed, an activist from Daraa province, said that at 6:00 pm on Sunday11, December 2016, the regular forces centering in al-Manshia struck the heavily populated neighborhood of al-Yarmouk in Daraa al-Balad with a locally-made ground-to-ground “Phil rocket.” The attacks led to three civilian deaths (a father and his two children) as well as wounding up to five others, including two children.

The Syrians for Truth and Justice reporter in Daraa province reports the victims as:

1 – Bilal Souleiman al-Barmawi (Father, Age Unknown)

2 – Sama Bilal Souleiman al-Barmawi (Child, 3 years old)

3 – Qousai Bilal al-Barmawi (Child, 2 years old)

Aba Zed added, “Syrian forces target the residential areas in Darra al-Balad daily for no obvious reasons, but just because they are out of the regime’s control and held by the Syrian opposition. The bombardment leads to civilian casualties and injuries in most cases”.
